Chesapeake Pediatric Dentist
Teeth whitening can improve the appearance of your child’s teeth. Whitening procedures can achieve noticeable results, and they can be completed at home.
Children with yellow or brown colored teeth are often ideal candidates for whitening. Long term treatment may be necessary for those with multi-colored teeth or stains from tetracycline. However, only natural teeth can be whitened. If any restorations are present, they will remain their original shade.
Our office offers Opalescence GO. Your child will receive disposable trays pre-filled with a whitening solution. The trays can be worn for 15-30 minutes each day for 7-10 days. If your child experiences significant discomfort or other oral health issues while using the whitening trays, instruct them to stop using immediately. Contact our office for assistance.
It is common to experience tooth sensitivity, particularly during the first day of whitening treatment. If sensitivity persists, our team can recommend a sensitivity-reducing toothpaste or other alterative.
